GARCON POINT BRIDGE TOLL INCREASE

The toll on the Garcon Point Bridge will be raised from $3.75 to $5.00 on March 1^st. A Tallahassee judge ordered the Florida Department of Transportation to raise the tolls after the department failed to do so in December. The corporation that represents the bondholders who own the bridge, filed a motion asking the judge to compel FDOT to raise the tolls, which he did yesterday. The judge did say he would allow FDOT to wait until April 1st if department officials could give him good reason to delay the imposition of the increase.
