The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says a 31-year-old DeFuniak Springs man has been arrested after being pulled over on Interstate-10 near mile marker 58 for a child custody investigation. The sheriff’s office said Zachery McKinney used an infant as a shield and refused to obey commands. He was taken into custody and transported to North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview for evaluation. He kicked and tried to bite deputies and also attacked a member of the medical staff.   The infant was not injured. McKinney was charged with false imprisonment, child abuse, resisting an officer with violence, and three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and health care professional.
