STATE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER ACTIVATED

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has activated the state’s Emergency Operations Center following the death of two Florida residents from coronavirus, one in Pensacola. Several other cases of the virus have been confirmed around the State. This is a Level 2 activation which will coordinate the state’s response to coronavirus and provide support to the Florida Department of Health as well as to county health departments. Governor DeSantis had previously issued an Executive Order declaring a public health emergency and requested 25 million dollars from the Florida Legislature to be appropriated in this current year to assist with the response to the virus.
