Escambia County issued an emergency order Friday afternoon closing all public access beaches in the county. The order will remain in place through April 2nd and closes the sandy portion of Quietwater Beach, Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key. However, people are not prohibited from going to the beach for a scenic drive or food pick-up. Boat ramps, the fishing pier and the Bob Sikes fishing bridge will also remain open to the public. Violation of the order is a misdemeanor offense. Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties as well as Alabama beaches are already closed.
