Escambia County’s Emergency Operations Center has been activated because of the coronavirus. Eric Gilmore, Escambia County emergency manager, said the County received its first shipment of needed medical supplies that are coming in from the state of Florida and federal government. Those supplies were distributed to local first responders and hospitals. The shipment included about 2,100 N95 respirators, gowns, gloves and face shields.
