The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s launched a system that allows citizens to go online and file their own reports for petty crimes. The Sheriff’s Office says emergencies should still be reported to 911. By eliminating smaller crimes from their workloads, deputies can remain on the road, respond to more significant emergencies and avoid excessive exposure to those who may have coronavirus. Reports will be assigned to an investigator with a copy being made available between 24 to 48 hours. The E-Report system will continue to be available to citizens after the pandemic.
