PROPERTY TAX DEADLINE EXTENDED

The State Department of Revenue has extended the final due date for 2019 property tax payments until April 15th because of the COVID-19 outbreak. That means taxes paid by April 15th for the 2019 tax year will be considered paid on time. Property tax is normally due by March 31st. Jim Zingale, executive director of the department, issued an emergency order on yesterday to extend the final due date, following direction from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to provide flexibility on tax due dates. Taxpayers with additional questions should contact their county tax collectors.
