CHILD-PROTECTIVE VISITS LIMITED

Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Canady has temporarily limited court-ordered family visitation in child-protective cases because of concerns about the coronavirus. The decision involves children who are under the supervision of the state Department of Children and Families and visits by their parents, siblings or other people. Through April 17th such visits will be conducted through video communications instead of in-person unless all parties and the caregiver agree that the visitation can take place in a manner that does not pose a health threat.
