Public school students in Escambia County will start classes this week at home. Teachers and staff members go back to work today, and many will work from home. Teachers will begin calling students with information about their classes. Superintendent Malcolm Thomas said students in grades 3-12 already have an assigned Chromebook laptop, and the district will also provide Chromebooks to students in kindergarten, first and second-grade. Some parents may also let their kids use their current laptop or home computer. The district is also working to reach students that have inadequate or no internet access at home.
