Disagreements over the effectiveness of wearing face masks continue. The World Health Organization says there is no evidence wearing a mask by a healthy person can prevent infection from respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. New federal guidelines are recommending that Americans wear face coverings when in public to help fight the spread of the coronavirus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourages people to use even simple face coverings coverings like T-shirts, bandannas and non-medical masks. WHO says it is more effective to focus on hand washing and social distancing.
