The Florida Department of Health is reporting that Escambia County has recorded a second death from COVID-19. A 78-year-old man from died Monday after contracting the coronavirus – the second death in four days. A 75-year-old woman who died Friday was the County’s first coronavirus death. Santa Rosa County had previously reported two deaths. The total number of cases in Escambia County has reached 165. Seven of Escambia County’s confirmed cases involve residents or staff of long-term care facilities, up from the three cases reported Monday. The City of Pensacola has 117 cases.
