FLORIDA SNAP ON-LINE PURCHASING

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved Florida’s request to allow SNAP recipients – the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to purchase groceries online to reduce shopping risk from COVID-19. Previously, SNAP recipients had to appear in person and present their Electronic Benefit Transfer card. On-line purchasing should begin later this month. Nearly 3 million Floridians participate in SNAP, which is administered by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
