Faculty and staff at Pensacola State College have started a fund to help students who have lost a job or are experiencing financial hardships. So far, the PSC COVID-19 Student Assistance Fund has raised $9,800 from private donations and PSC employees. Ed Meadows, president of Pensacola State College, said about 70% of the college’s students need financial assistance to attend PSC, and many work full-time or part-time jobs while taking classes. He said the assistance will cover late housing costs and purchasing food or technology for students who need it to access online classes.
