DESTIN PARK DAMAGE

Destin City Parks and Recreation Director Lisa Firth said some picnic tables at city parks have been damaged in recent weeks by people using them as gym equipment. Gyms were deemed as non-essential businesses and must remain closed through at least April 30th to slow the spread of the coronavirus. All beaches and some parks and park facilities in Destin are also closed, but restrooms and picnic pavilions at parks remain open. Unable to supervise the use of the tables around the clock, city workers have now removed most of them from parks. Bathrooms are sanitized every day and the areas are patrolled frequently to ensure the public is abiding by CDC guidelines.
