WALTON COUNTY BEACH REOPENINGS

Walton County Commissioners will likely wait until next week to address the issue of reopening beaches. Last Friday Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suggested that some municipalities may consider opening up their beaches – if it can be done safely. Commission Chairman Bill Chapman said he will sign off on a renewal of the local state of emergency declared last month and will meet with a number of county officials, including the county administrator, the county attorney, the sheriff and a representative of the health department, to discuss the status of the state of emergency declaration.
