PANAMA CITY BEACHES TO REOPEN

The Panama City Beach City Council has voted to partially reopen the city’s sandy portion of their beaches. The Bay County Commission approved a similar ordinance to reopen the unincorporated beaches on Friday. Beaches will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day. All commercial activity on the beach will be prohibited and groups must follow social distancing guidelines. Councilman Paul Casto said that while beaches are back open, it’s not an invitation for tourists to come back and the purpose of the ordinance is to give residents an outlet for recreational activity.
