WALTON COUNTY BURN BAN

Because of the on-going threat from wildfires, Walton County commissioners will consider a countywide ban on outdoor burning at today’s meeting. The recent Mussett Bayou fire wildfire destroyed 34 homes and caused significant additional damage. The Florida Forest Service says an arrest in connection with the illegal outdoor burn that sparked the wildfire is likely. Bay County commissioners approved a burn ban on Monday.
