Florida State University says they will send checks ranging from $400 to $600 to more than 12,500 students who have already demonstrated a financial need. Graduate students could see $1,000. The money will come from FSU’s nearly $30 million share of the Federal Cares Act. Statewide, more than $125 million will go directly to students at other colleges and universities, but each school can decide how to distribute the money.
