The Florida Department of Corrections says eight Florida prisons have the highest number of inmates testing positive for COVID-19. As of yesterday, 6,283 inmates had been tested showing outbreaks in four more prisons including Homestead Correctional Institution and Apalachee Correctional Institution. There have also been outbreaks at prisons located in Volusia, Jackson, Liberty, Sumter, Palm Beach, Columbia, Santa Rosa and Miami-Dade counties. The eight prisons that accounted for 96 percent of the state’s 723 COVID-19 cases.
