Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he wants to allow visitors into Florida long-term care facilities, but they would have to wear masks, gowns and gloves. No time frame has been announced for resuming visits. About a third of the state’s 1,827 deaths from the coronavirus involve residents and staff at nursing homes and family members have been barred from visiting for the past two months. Florida nursing homes house 150,000 residents and have 200,000 staff members.
