The Okaloosa County Commission has extended the ban on outdoor burning for another seven days. The ban took effect May 12th. Public Safety Director Pat Maddox said while the area has gotten some rain it still is very dry and the Florida Forest Service recommended extending the ban, which prohibits all outdoor open-flame burning, but allows state-authorized burns, firefighter training, and cooking on gas or charcoal grills.
