ALABAMA PRISON ESCAPEE RECAPTURED

The U.S. Marshal’s Service says a 41-year-old Alabama prison escapee – also wanted for a July 2019 armed carjacking in North Escambia County Florida – was captured by Marshals in St John Parish, Louisiana. Travis Dawson escaped from the Loxley Work Release Center last July. He was armed with a machete when he took a minivan from a relative. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Mobile. No one was injured in the incident. Dawson was sentenced to 20 years in 2013 on a possession of a controlled substance conviction in Escambia County, Alabama. He is in the St John Parish Jail awaiting extradition back to Alabama.
