Escambia County has a new director of public safety. Jason Rogers, currently serving as both the director of emergency management and executive director of the Delaware County Emergency Medical Services in Muncie, Indiana, has been selected by Escambia County Commissioners. He has been in public safety for 27 years as a law enforcement officer, paramedic and volunteer firefighter. He will replace interim director John Dosh, who retires in June. The public safety director has oversight for Escambia County Emergency Services, Emergency Management, county dispatch and the 911 center, Pensacola Beach Lifeguards, the county medical director, as well as Escambia County Fire Rescue.
