More than 750,000 Floridians are unemployed because of the coronavirus pandemic. The State’s jobless rate is now almost 13 percent, up from 4.4 percent in March. The Department of Economic Opportunity says the overall labor force also fell by nearly 9 percent last month. The April unemployment rate surpasses Florida’s peak during the recession a decade ago.
