The traffic checkpoint for COVID-19 is still in place at the Florida-Alabama state line on Interstate-10. It was established by an order from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on March 27th Now, after 2 months, the Florida Highway Patrol says not all drivers are being asked to pull over when heavy traffic becomes a safety concern. Drivers from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Louisiana – COVID-19 hot spots identified by the Governor – have been singled out and told they must self-quarantine. It is not known if this policy will change or if the checkpoint will be discontinued.
