The Okaloosa County Sheriff Office says at least 11 people were rescued over the weekend from the waters near Crab Island and the Destin East Pass by law enforcement officers and citizens. Strong currents from the outgoing tide in the Destin Pass and Crab Island caused several people to get into difficulty Saturday and Sunday. No serious injuries were reported.
