NEW FLORIDA SUPREME COURT JUSTICES

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has filled two vacancies on the Florida Supreme Court. The two new justices are 42-year-old Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Renatha Francis, who was born in Jamaica, the first black to serve on the court since Justice Peggy Quince retired in January 2019 and John Couriel, a Miami lawyer, also a first-generation Floridian whose father was born in Cuba.
