PEDESTRIANS STRUCK IN NATIONAL SESHORE

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 36-year-old man and a two-year-old boy were hit by a car Tuesday night in the Gulf Island National Seashore near Pensacola Beach. Troopers say the two were getting into a car that was parked on the side of State Road 399 around 8:30 p.m. when an oncoming car swerved onto the shoulder and hit them. The victims were from Joplin, Missouri and were seriously injured. Gulf Islands National Seashore says signs are posted that parking on the shoulder is prohibited.
