The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved a Florida program to issue benefits to 2.1 million children who do not have access to free and reduced-price meals this summer. Eligible families will automatically receive the benefit during the month of June and do not have to take any further action. The program is a partnership between the Department of Children and Families and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
