The Walton County Animal Shelter has reopened to the public for the first time since late March. Two visitors at a time will be allowed in the lobby. disposable masks will be provided, social distancing measures will be practiced and hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the shelter. Animal Services encourages people who find a lost or stray animal, or who wish to surrender their own pet, to call and have an animal control officer pick up the pet, rather than dropping it off.
