VFW OFFICIAL ARRESTED

A former quartermaster of a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Milton has been arrested for stealing more $140,000 from the nonprofit organization. The president of VFW Post 4833 on Carroll Road in Milton contacted the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office last summer to report that 35-year-old Steven Williams, of Milton, had stolen more than $140,000 from the VFW in 2018 and 2019 using credit cards. Williams is accused of using VFW funds to make purchases from different businesses and to pay bill collectors. He was charged with grand theft, fraud and illegal use of credit cards and released after posting $60,000 bond.
