Qualifying for the upcoming Florida Primary on August 18th has been completed. In Escambia County the two incumbent School Board members up for reelection – Patty Hightower and Bill Slayton – were reelected without opposition as were Property Appraiser Chris Jones, Supervisor of Elections David Stafford, and Century council member Luis Gomez Jr. In the City of Pensacola Casey Jones was elected with no opposition to the District 3 seat. Catherine Monroe-Dismuke and Louis A. Toth were also elected without opposition to the Escambia County Soil and Water Conservation District and Escambia County and County Judge Charles Young was also elected without opposition. There are contested races for Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, Sheriff, Tax Collector, and all three County Commission and Emerald Coast Utility seats that will be on the ballot.
