NO CRIMINAL CHARGES FOR WILDFIRE

The Pensacola News Journal is reporting that no criminal charges will be filed for last month’s Five Mile Swamp wildfire in Milton that burned nearly 2,300 acres, destroyed 14 homes and caused more than two million dollars in damages. The Florida Forest Service and the State Attorney’s Office determined there was no gross negligence or criminal element involving the fire and the State Attorney’s Office has declined to pursue any criminal charges.
