The U.S. Coast Guard says one man died and another was hospitalized after a diving accident on Saturday. The Coast Guard received a report of the incident around 8:30 a.m. Saturday that occurred 12 nautical miles southwest of Pensacola Beach. A 48-year-old man went into cardiac arrest after surfacing too quickly. A 28-year-old diver found the man unconscious at the bottom and brought him to the surface and also began showing similar symptoms from resurfacing too quickly. The 48-year-old man was pronounced dead and the 28-year-old was flown by Life Flight to the Springhill Medical Center in Alabama in stable condition.
