NATIONAL FLIGHT ACADEMY

The National Flight Academy at Naval Air Station Pensacola has announced that all summer programs will be cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Up to 200 students per week live onboard a landlocked, virtual aircraft carrier, called AMBITION, for six days while they plan and complete missions. Retired Marine Lieutenant General Duane Thiessen, president of the National Flight Academy, said parents of students were offered the option of a refund or a spot in the 2021 program. The Flight Academy began operations in 2012 and has since taught 17,000 students.
