New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will direct travelers from states with high rates of COVID-19 – including Florida – to self-quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival. The governors of the three states held a joint news conference to announce the new travel advisory. The order will apply to travelers from Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Utah and Texas. If someone violates a mandatory quarantine, they could be subject to a fine of up to $2,000 for a first offense and up to $10,000 if they cause harm.
