State Attorney Bill Eddins says a shooting by a Milton Police Department officer on March 2nd has been ruled justifiable. Brandon McCloud was shot by Sergeant Dwayne Smith behind the Santa Rosa County Federal Credit Union after McCloud robbed the credit union at gunpoint. Sergent Smith pursued McCloud on foot and ordered him to stop and put his hands up. When McCloud pointed a handgun at Sergeant Smith, he was shot in the leg. His wound was not life-threatening and he was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
