MASK MANDATE RESOLUTION

The Pensacola City Council will vote on a resolution Thursday to ask the Escambia County commission to follow their lead and adopt a mask ordinance. Mayor Grover Robinson says he supports the council’s resolution to ask the county to implement a mask mandate to help reduce COVID-19 cases. County commissioners decided to launch a mask campaign to encourage residents to wear masks instead of implementing a mandate. County Commissioner Jeff Bergosh says wearing a mask should be a personal decision and said he doesn’t think it’s a function of government to force people to wear masks.
