NFL hall of famer and Pensacola native Emmitt Smith will likely be involved with the further development of the former Emerald Coast Utilities Authority property that is now owned by Studer Properties. Studer Properties selected a joint proposal from The Dawson Company and Emmitt Smith Enterprises to build a 234-unit mixed-income apartments on the former ECUA property on West Main Street. Smith said there is still a lot of work to be done before the project is finalized. His company was part of the master development team for the Science and Technology Park and John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
