Pensacola Police say a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old girl on August 1st. Department spokesman Officer Mike Wood, said Aniyah Nettles was accidentally shot and killed by another child at her grandmother’s home on North “B” Street. Witnesses say a gun belonging to Corie Thompson fell out of his pants while he was sleeping and was picked up by a child who accidentally fired it. Thompson was charged with unsafe storage of a firearm and culpable negligence and was booked into the Escambia County Jail on a $6,000 bond.
