CHILD ABUSE CHARGES DROPPED

State Attorney Bill Eddins says charges have been dropped against a 26-year-old Milton woman who was arrested last month on suspicion of child abuse. Heidi Burchinal was arrested July 21st after her boyfriend, 33-year-old Shawn McDonald, told Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies that he saw her throw her three-month-old on the floor. Paramedics and the Child Protection Team examined the child and found no signs of injury or abuse. On July 31st, McDonald told the State Attorney’s Office he made a false report and was charged with one count of filing a false police report. He was released from the Santa Rosa County on a $1,000 bond.
