The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says a 29-year-old man drowned in a Destin pool Monday while doing swimming and breathing exercises. First responders were called to 4111 Commons Drive around 3:30 p.m. after Brennan May was found on the bottom of the pool. He was pulled from the pool by bystanders who assisted with rescue breathing and CPR and was transported to the Destin Emergency Room where he was pronounced dead just before 4 p.m. May was a Navy diver attending the Naval Explosives Ordnance Disposal School at Eglin.
