Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried was in Northwest Florida and said damage to crops across northern Escambia County was close to 100 percent. On Sunday, Fried met with farmers in Walnut Hill and Jay and saw at first-hand what Hurricane Sally did to crops and farmlands. No financial estimate of the crops losses has been released.
