ROADS AND BRIDGES

The Florida Department of Transportation announced Monday morning that Beulah Road from Mobile Highway to Nine Mile Road is now open to traffic. The road had been closed due to downed trees and power lines.

Traffic restrictions on the Garcon Point Bridge were lifted to all traffic at noon on Sunday and the toll suspension remains in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow. The bridge was struck by a drifting barge, but an inspection by the Florida Department Of Ttransportation verified that the bridge is structurally sound.

The Bob Sikes Bridge to Pensacola Beach is restricted to the north lanes only because of erosion on the approaches at both ends of the bridge.

The Thee-Mile Chappie James Bridge over Pensacola Bay remains closed because of damage from drifting barges during Hurricane Sally.
