VOTERS INCORRECTLY TOLD THEY ARE NOT TO BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE

Florida voters who claim a special public records exemption because of the sensitive, confidential or dangerous nature of their job are getting postcards from the Department of State’s Division of Elections wrongly telling them they may not be registered to vote. Postcards in English and Spanish, says recipients are eligible, but not registered to vote. The public exemption list includes police and civilian law enforcement personnel, judges, probation officers, correctional officers, firefighters and paramedics and members of the U.S. military.
