GARCON POINT BRIDGE TOLL SUSPENSION

The Florida Department of Transportation says the five-dollar toll on the Garcon Point Bridge has been suspended again to January 12th, 2021. The Pensacola Bay Bridge is expected to be closed for repair at least until March 2021. Florida Senator Doug Broxson says legal constraints only allow Governor Ron DeSantis to extend the suspension in 30-day increments. The Department of Transportation has announced its intent to seek reimbursement from Skanska for lost toll revenue and announced it would be withholding as much as $35,000 per day from Skanska while the bridge remains out of service.
