SKANSKA BARGE INVESTIGATION

It’s been three days since a Skanska barge ran aground on the Gulf Breeze side of Pensacola Bay after it had its anchor line allegedly cut.   Federal and state agencies still have to determine who will investigate the incident. A Skanska spokeswoman said the company filed a report with the Coast Guard and contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. A Coast Guard spokesperson said the incident is not under Coast Guard jurisdiction and it will be up to the state. No damage was reported when the barge went aground next to some private piers.
