LIFEGUARD SEASON BEGINS ON COUNTY BEACHES

The 2021 lifeguard season on area beaches has begun. Pensacola Beach Lifeguards rolled out their towers, and welcomed 19 new and 56 returning lifeguards. One to three towers at Casino Beach will be on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, than from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Sunday, March 14th. During the summer, up to 10 towers, including the towers at Gulf Islands National Seashore, will be in service. Last season, Pensacola Beach Lifeguards performed 104 rescues and 128 assists to swimmers in distress, Lifeguards also assisted with 35 major medical incidents.
