A Santa Rosa County prison inmate who threatened to bomb a courthouse and to kill someone with anthrax after claiming ties to ISIS, has been sentenced to an additional 8 years in federal prison. 30-year-old Craig Pope was serving a state prison sentence for crimes committed in Hillsborough County and sent two threatening letters from the Santa Rosa Correctional Institution to a Hillsborough County judge who presided over his plea and post-conviction matters. One letter contained a white powder, which triggered the Tampa Fire Rescue Hazardous Materials Response Team to respond to the courthouse. The powder was found not to be a biohazard. The new sentence will begin after Pope finishes serving his current state prison sentence.
