Recent improvements to the Saenger Theatre in downtown Pensacola were done without approval of the city’s Architectural Review Board. A spokesperson for the theatre said the Saenger overlooked applying for approval of new doors from the Architectural Review Board by mistake and that it was simply an oversight. The Architectural Review Board did not grant after the fact approval and now it’s in the city’s hands whether the doors stay. A spokesperson for the theatre said the doors were put up for security reasons and they plan to go in front of the city council to appeal the decision of the Architectural Review Board.
